So does this mean after mainstream and extended support finishes can we still use Windows 7. At our house we have 2 laptops with Windows 7 SP1 (mine and my younger brother) and 1 desktop with Windows 7 SP1. The desktop one my dad uses for work purposes when he does work remotely via his office while at home and also it has games installed for us to play.

I don’t want to upgrade the desktop into Windows 8 because it may cause issues and incompatibilities with my dad programs that he uses for work.

I only may think about upgrading only my laptop to Windows 8 OS, but that’s a long time away.

So when mainstream and extended support ends for Windows 7 we can still use it right though we won’t get security updates and fixes via Microsoft Update. We only should try to keep our antivirus software up-to-date and other programs such as Java, Adobe Reader, SAS Free, MBAM Free, and etc up-to-date right?
