Microsoft mouse glitchy after avast update

its been a month now, but out of sudden, my microsoft mouse became glitchy.
at first i thought to be other isues, then i couldnt fix it and the problem solved it self once i disabled all services from avast.
i did just try uninstalling and installing, the issue persists.
can anyone help me with please.

There is very little information to work with.
Are you getting any error messages or is it the erratic behaviour.

What Operating system with WinVer (run winver from a cmd prompt) info.

What Avast program with version number and build number (displayed in About Avast screen). ?

What type of MS mouse and how does it connect, corded, USB, etc. (have you tried it with another mouse) ?

OK, I have never used a Bluetooth mouse, but I’m wondering if there would be an interaction between it and the Avast Network Inspector and or The Firewall.
Try a different mouse if you have one old/previous USB mouse

Check the settings for:
Avast Network Inspector it will probably show your Bluetooth mouse connection and if it is Private or Public connection.
You may be able to change that in the Firewall (I don’t have this installed) set to private and not public.

Did this start happening after the update to Avast Free program version: 23.7 ?
This is in the time frame that you mentioned, around the start of this month.

i tried just now to turn off the network inspector and also didnt fix the issue.

the pointer is scrambled.
the selection does not follow the pointer.
scrolling is stuck even without using the wheel.

i assume with any other mouse would be ok cause my touchpad is fine.
what makes it weird is i was using it normally and then one day it didnt work.

What did the Network Inspector say about the devices status (as in my screenshot) ?
If it is indicating Public network, have you tried setting the Firewall to Private network ?

I wouldn’t assume that, if the touchpad is a usb cable connection and the mouse is bluetooth one may work whilst the other doesn’t.

Hi,

It would be a good idea to disable them one by one to find out which one is causing the problem.

Have you tried disabling the firewall?
