After installing this software I can’t get any of my Word or Excel spreadsheets to open. How can I fix this?

Which was your old antivirus? Norton? AVG? How did you uninstall them?

It was Norton. I uninstalled throough Add/Remove programs.

  1. Remove NAV through Add/Remove programs from Control Panel. Boot.
  2. Use Norton Removal Tool for Windows 2000/XP/Vista or Norton Removal Tool for Windows 98/Me. Boot.
  3. Install avast! (or repair the installation) and boot.

I just remembered it wouldn’t let me remove Norton. If I use he link you gave me will it do it?

If you follow Tech’s steps above, it should be removed.

Yes if you’re logged as the administrator of the computer (not a common user).
