Hi everybody,
I am working on a project for my uni and I have a conflict between visual studio 2010 and avast. When I try to build my project, I have an alert from avast saying that the file C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\bin\mt.exe has been blocked and I cannot build my solution.
Is this file really a virus ? Can I set the folder as an exception of avast scan ?
Thank you for your help.
Cheers.
what is the exact message from avast?
upload and test the file at www.virustotal.com if tested before, click new scan
post link to scan result here
Thanks for your answer.
I use avast in French so I can only give you a translation of the message:
Avast blocked a threat.
No action needs to be undertaken.
Object: [my project folder]\Debug\RCX1FFF.tmp
Infection: Win32:Evo-gen [Susp]
Action: Quarantine
Process: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\bin\mt.exe
The threat has been blocked just before the creation or the modification of the file.
Actually I think I misunderstood the message of avast, the actual problem is the creation of a .tmp file in my project folder and mt.exe is the process that creates this .tmp file (am I right ?). But still, is it a danger for my computer and how could I fix it ?
I uploaded the mt.exe file on the website you suggested and it seems to be okay. Here is the link to the result.
