This sounds like trouble. Im all in favor of free security products, it gives people no excuse not to have up-to-date protection. However, I fear the effect this will have on the security Software market, especially if its bundled with the OS like Defender
Why ppl complain so much about integrated software. If it can be disabled like WIndows Defender i’m all with it. Ppl cfomplain that WIndows is not secure enough but then again they don’t allow Microsoft to offer integrated solutions to make OS more secure. Is anyone else feeling the irony?
So what if MS antivirus is integrated. Those who prefer something else will also use something else.
The problem is that applications MS don’t make money from seem to take the slow train to Sucksville, just like Defender. How many times have you seen Defender sitting on a badly infected computer doing bugger all?
I know its not very good, but i’ve seen many people’s machines infected with spyware and when I tell them they are like “How is it infected, I have Defender installed?”
People rely on MS junk software and dont seek out good software like avast and MBAM. Thats why I would rather not see them have their own pre-installed AV solution.
