Midway Arcade Treasures Deluxe Edition

I have the PC DVD-ROM version of an arcade game compilation called Midway Arcade Treasures Deluxe Edition. I primarily use the Midway Arcade Treasures 2 portion of the compilation because of the Mortal Kombat games.

Now this is the problem: In the Midway Arcade Treasures 2 game folder, there are several .exe files (the main one being ffe.exe). For the past few months avast has been labeling most to all of the exes as suspicious items and moving them to the virus vault. Thus I can’t play the compilation anymore unless I turn avast shields off.

I know the compilation doesn’t have viruses in it. I used to play it all the time on several computers and they never had any trouble with it. Is there a way I can make all the .exe files so that they can’t be identified as suspicious items and/or viruses? Not just by avast but by any antivirus program? I want to be able to enjoy this great compilation again!

Did you update the file to VirusTotal, what flagged it.
Their are various variants of that file: http://www.isthisfilesafe.com/filename/ffe.exe_details.aspx

if you think this is wrong, send files to avast lab for correction

You can upload files and report issues to avast lab here: http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php (change subject according to Your case)

you can use mail
send to virus@avast.com in a password protected zip file
mail subject: False Positive / undetected sample (select subject according to your case)
zip password: infected

or you can send files from avast chest

Thank you for the help. I sent all the files in a zip archive to the avast lab.

All went well, Midway Arcade Treasures is no longer classified as a virus by avast, and I can enjoy the compilation again! Thanks again for your help!
