They said Fx 3.0 has lost it appetite for memory somewhat, with Flock at 200, my Minefield nightly trunk version comes out at 110 with peaks at 138 MB/ That is much, much better as in the days of Fx 2.0.
IE8 is also not bad, but other browsers can get to a consumption of 700 MB.
been using it for a while now after bob told me about it some time ago
and no problem with it AT ALL@@@@
neither spyware terminator,SAS scanning picks anything up or does comodo or avast ;)
On contrary… I’m having deep trouble since I’ve tested it.
I’m not running anymore but I think it changed something in my system that Firefox, when opened for 2-3 hours, starts to use all available RAM…
Can you tell us, the users of Fx and Flock, why you have such a dislike for the Mozilla type browser. Are you an Opera fan then? Don’t tell us you use IE7 just because IE came with your computer!
Or are you a user of another browser like TheWorld (nice Chinese IE type of browser) or the minimal browzar shell browser?
Can you tell us, the users of Fx and Flock, why you have such a dislike for the Mozilla type browser.
I started using a browser back in '81 when the Internet was just starting and working for IBM and using OS/2 Warp and its browser that was developed between IBM and Microsoft before Bill Gates had a hissy fit with IBM and left to devote more time to Microsoft.
IBM’s OS/2 Warp browser was later to become IE v4.0 I believe and be immersed in the operating system that was to become Win95.
I retired from IBM in '98 and purchased a ThinkPad system that came with Win95 that I promptly updated to Win98SE and the then latest IE which was v5.0 I believe because I was accustomed to where things were and how it worked.
Are you an Opera fan then?
I'm not an Opera fan but it is an OK browser.
Don't tell us you use IE7 just because IE came with your computer!
You do not give me much credit for my intelligence and experience do you ???
If you have a couple of billion dollars and lots of political clout then you could start one.
I don’t have 1 cents, I do in the bank but None at home… Oh well - Scratch that idea, I don’t think I could make one being 13 anyway… So firefox took billions to make?
As you will no doubt be aware, from your background, that IE being integrated into the OS, much of the Memory footprint won’t be shown as it is loaded with the OS.
So other browsers, Firefox, Opera, Safari (on windows), etc. will be showing total memory used and not just that related to browsing the internet in the case of reported memory use for IE.
