Minor issue in localized UI

Just noticed this and thought it’s worth reporting.

In the screenshot below there is a pop-up window with information about avast updated with new databases. The problem is that it is missing last word or two.

Text inside window translates to something like “New version of antivirus database has been installed. Click here to get”. Probably it should read “Click here to get more infromation” or something like that but whatever should be after “get” is missing.

I guess it just went below pop-up window border since same sentences written in Russian tend to take more place than in English.

Welcome to the forum

Actually I think the popup is saying excatly what it is supposed to. In the English version the is no link to “get more information”.

Hope that Helps

Then what does it mean by saying “Click here to get”? Get what?

Thanks for the reply.

I mean that when you “Click here to get” the updates download to your computer. So when you get this popup the updates have not been downloaded yet and its asking you if you want to download it.

The message text is truncated indeed…

@ Igor and 4u3u
This is the English update notice and I think that rather than truncated, ‘get’ should be ‘install’

English is quite a “short” language - the translated texts are often slightly longer. We’ll see if it’s possible to do anything about the window.

DavidR,

Thanks for the reply. However I think we are talking about different scenarios.

Your screenshot shows the pop-up with the information about updates availability while my is notification about successful installation of new virus databases (I have configured avast to automatically download and install new a/v databases).

The issue will be fixed in the next program update.
