I was hit with a virus called Personal Antivirus. It tried to take over all files and treat them as a virus. I got stopzilla to stop it. but everytime run a virus scan it still has some fragment somewhere that stopzippa finds. Why did avast not see this. running version 4.8.

Download Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware (MBAM) then install and get the latest database update then run a quick scan and have it remove all it finds:
