I’m unable to see the comments on some webpages. I’m not sure if it’s an Avast issue, or an issue with my browser. I’m using:
–avast internet security 2014.9.0.2008
–chrome Version 31.0.1650.63

They are also missing in Explorer, but I can see them with Firefox. ( I just downloaded firefox today). Can anyone help me get the comments to load in Chrome?

If you have Avast Online Security extension enabled in Chrome, try disabling it from the tools>extensions menu.

Well NOT really FIXED. It’s a work around that has the downside I believe of removing the web reputation functionality, and also the anti tracking functions, thus negating some of the “features” of the new version.
That said, it seems a significant number (including myself) have had to ditch the browser add ons/extensions for one reason or another. Would be interesting to know whether any work is being done to correct AOS issues.
I was never really fond of addons and specially from antivirus solutions. I had always the feeling that it would somehow mess up the browsing experience so never installed. And would never do to stay out of problems. To me, it does not provide me with any kind of security. Webshield was enough all along. And yeah, after several years of browsing, I don’t remember when was the last time I had encountered a threat!! Saved me from posting all those problems related to it!
