I need a little help. I have Avast Premium Security and, for some time (a month maybe), the “Windows Explorer” section no longer appears in the settings of the antivirus scans. The other three sections for Full scan, Target scan and Startup scan are there as always, but the “Explorer scan” settings are missing (See screenshot). The scan from Explorer itself works as usual (I can do right-click and “Scan with Avast)” but I would also like its settings screen to be available, in case there were some settings to adjust.
The same thing happens on 3 PCs with Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 Home and Windows 8.1. I suspect that this is due to one of the latest updates and therefore it is normal behavior, but I can’t be sure.
Could you kindly check the settings to see if this happens to you too? And maybe attach a screenshot of your settings screen? (Menu->Settings->Protection->Antivirus scans).
The screenshot is in Italian but it should still be easy to understand which screen I’m talking about.
Thank you very much for any kind help you can provide!
Hi. I saw that topic too, and I hope so! Thanks very much for your reply
In the meantime, is there anyone else who wants to check if Explorer scan has disappeared from his/her settings as well? Thanks a lot and let’s hope for the fix…

You don’t say what Avast Program version and build number you have installed ?
See mine in the signature below my posts and I have the Explorer scan in Avast Settings. See attached screenshot.
Even if it isn’t in your settings, is it available when you right click on a Windows Explorer folder or file ?
Check the Build number and UI version also.
The program version number isn’t the important part, it doesn’t change so much the build number (can be bug fixes). Also the User Interface (UI) which could have UI bug fixes, such as this.
