Mix up when renewing Registration

I have been running the free version of Avast anti-virus for several years now on my Win 7 x 64 bit system and have been happy with it.

As it was coming near the end of my year’s registration period I decided yesterday to renew my registration. I got confused and clicked the upgrade button by mistake and found myself starting down the road of placing an order for one of their packages.
All I wanted was to continue with the free version but there didn’t appear to be any back buttons to take me back to the start again so I just had to X out of the various windows I was presented with without completing a purchase.

I eventually managed to renew my registration but now I get pop ups saying something along the lines of ‘you have something in your cart and have not completed it’. Those are not the exact words but hopefully you get my drift. Can anyone help me as to how I can stop this please.

Hi Quicksilver,

this popup will appear just twice and then it will stop showing. It usually appears one hour after you left the cart and then next in 24 hours and that’s it.

Please let me know if it continues popping up.

Oh thanks very much for that information MartinZ. I’ve seen it twice so hopefully that will be that. I will indeed get back to you if it continues to show.
