i have been putting off the new vertion of avast for some time now. So i finnally allow it to up date and, now my monitor will not turn on. i have allredy tried a different monitor. Also if i unplug my monitor cable from my computer, my monitor will still have the red, green, blue test come up. Please Help!

Are you able to see the initial POST screen and/or Windows logo when you first turn on your system? Or is the screen completely blank all together? If no screen at all, is there any hard drive activity taking place?
An update to avast (and any problems associated with it) wouldn’t affect your monitor, just the operating system.
