Mouse altering viruses?

Is there somewhere that I can find a list of viruses/malware on the internet which shows them in detail because my mouse has started acting strangely latley and I need to see if there any viruses that affect mouse control or something like that?

ps when I use online virus scanners should I disable/pause standard shield to avoid conflicts?

Better to search is to scan…

Some users will say yes, and they’re right… possible conflicts, performance impact.
Other will say: never turn off you resident protection 8)

Unless its clicking around on your desktop all by itself its likely a hardware problem. What exactly is it doing?

Just being generally sluggish, sometimes it appears to be like something is holding the right mouse button down and un-reponsiveness

Does Avast cover hardware effecting viruses and computer controlling malware?

ps in regards to online scans would it be safe to pause standard shield for the duration of the scan and leave web shield on or would it be a case of stopping it all (which I dont think I will do for safety reasons)

I usually stop standard shield, leave webshield on. I think the connection may even be https (secure), webshield doesn’t scan those.

Anyone suggest good online scanners that are quick, effective and dont leave lots of rubbish on your hard drive after scans

My choices would be Kaspersky and TrendMicro.

Kaspersky (very good detection rates)
ESET NOD32
Trendmicro housecall
AVGas (does not necessary if you have AVG antispyware installed)
F-Secure
BitDefender (free removal of the malware)
HitmanPro (multiply scanners)

Not panda, which not only leaves a lot of rubbish but it leaves it in your system(32) folder and the signatures are unencrypted.
