Move to Recycle Bin greyed out?

Just tested Polipos samples (the ones that i also sent to you) and noticed this.
Is it normal for “Move to Recycle Bin” to be greyed out?

Depends on where it comes from. If it’s on-access, it’s normal. Otherwise, it’s not normal.

Yes, On-Access. That’s normal? ???

Well, as you certainly remember, it was found (during the beta testing, even though this had nothing to do with the beta) that moving to recycle bin from the resident protection causes strange problems. As there’s no easy workaround, I’ve decided to disable this option in relevant cases (which is the resident protection on NT-based platform).

Honestly, deleting infected files to recycle bin is a stupid thing to do anyway

The problem only occured on NTFS volumes. And the reason is that on NTFS, recycle bin is PER USER. However, because the on-access scanner runs as a system service, it’s hard to access the user’s local recycle bin. That’s the problem that we were facing, and since the solution would be quite compex (if not impossible), it made more sense to simply disable this option for on-accesss scanning.

Aha, thx for explanation. It just cought my eye (i don’t use that feature anyway) and i reported it just in case because of upcoming program update.

OK, I admit I didn’t try to enable the option on NT-based systems for FAT drives… but I’d be somehow afraid of it as well.
