Moving spam to a specific folder in Outlook 2007

New installation of Avast Internet Security. Outlook 2007.

By default, Avast moves spam to the Junk Mail folder. Is there any way I can have Avast move it to another folder instead; like one named “Spam Mail”? If this can be done, I’d appreciate instructions on how to do it.

Thanks!

It is in the avastUI, Settings, Maintenance, Support, Program Help, see image, click to expand.

David:

I’ve gone into Additional Protection–>Antispam–>Expert Settings and made sure that the box for “Automatically move spam messages to the junk folder” is checked. Then I named the mail folder “Spam - Avast.” This didn’t do anything, and spam mail marked as spam is still be delivered to the regular junk mail folder. No new folder was automatically created in the folder tree. I even tried creating the folder manually and then designating mail as spam, but it still went to the regular junk mail folder, not the spam folder.

Any suggestions wold be appreciated.

Thanks!

Scott

I don’t believe it does anything until it is needed, as mentioned in the last sentence of paragraph in the image, e.g. when a spam email is received. That is an assumption on my part though as I don’t have the AIS version or MS Outlook.

I would think that when I manually designate something as spam that it would be moved to the designated folder…but that’s not what’s happening.

I don’t know, but I would guess that isn’t the case as in the same way if I add a suspect file to the avast chest, it doesn’t remove the file from the original location and that has to be dealt with manually.

I’ve opened a support ticket, and will report back when I hear from Avast. Hopefully they can shed some light on this.

Thanks for your help!
