Hello. About 3-5 days ago, a problem with Mozilla Firefox appeared. When I try to go to the site, nothing happens. The page does not load. These could be different sites. For example:
community.avast .com - yes, this site too
upwork .com
freelancehunt .com
translate.google .com
And others…
At the same time, everything is fine in Google Chrome.
If I disable all Avast shields, then the site starts loading.
Mozilla Firefox 142.0.1 (64-bit)
Windows 11 Pro 24H2 26100.5074 Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.234.0
Avast Premium Security 25.8.10387g (build 25.8.10387.947)
I could not identify any patterns. These could be different sites at different times. But it seems to me that this most often occurs with sites that use CDN.
First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.
Firefox is my default browser and I don’t have any issues connecting to this site, nor the google translate function.
That is also used within the other language sub-forum, or if the language displayed isn’t your language, then a world globe icon is displayed in that post and that uses Google’s translate. No problems there either.
I have just tried a couple of the domains you mention and no issue connecting.
“Have you tried clearing your Firefox cache?” - yes. It didn’t help.
“On the Avast side, can you temporarily disable “Real Site” while testing the sites?” - I tried that too. It didn’t help.
“But if you disable all HTTPS scanning, you will loose valuable website protection, as most websites use https now.” - Unfortunately, I think so too.
“You may be better off making specific websites as exceptions, instead of blanket scan disable.” - This is not an option. Since the problem occurs with different sites.
“Disabling HTTPS and your traffic isn’t encrypted so could be intercepted.” - No. This option doesn’t work like that.
The Enable HTTPS scanning option in Avast Antivirus is a feature of Web Guard that decrypts and scans encrypted traffic to detect potential malware on sites using HTTPS connections. It protects your PC against malware delivered by TLS and SSL encrypted HTTPS traffic when you browse the internet. This feature is enabled by default to ensure your full security. When Web Guard in Avast Antivirus scans the HTTPS connection, the data being scanned remains encrypted and secure.
In any case, I am interested in the reason for this problem. My wife has Windows 10 and everything works fine. I would like Avast technical support to get involved in this issue. But it seems they are not here.
