I think because it is getting very close to an RC version, which I believe is due this month (soon).

No, it’s not the RC. It’s the last beta. One or more RCs will follow after more bugs are fixed in this release. It’s provided to you so you can test it and provide feedback to the developers. -= Yes, I second, 3.10 is a LOT more stable than this “beta-RC” Firefox… The “beta-RC” is, undoubtedly, fast but, it doesn’t seem to be multi-tabbing friendly & closing tabs from youtube frequently causes a crash…
