He he, I began using Yahoo search engine awhile back. Don’t know if this is any better, however I really don’t like Bing either.
I think Google CEO was partially right when he said that only people who do unwanted things need to fear about privacy.
Like pedophiles…crazy people
so you agree with him, and think for the majority, privacy shouldn’t be a concern, ie if you got nothing to hide, then you must let the others know everything about you, is that right ??? ;D
Hi to the privacy concerned,
If you are worried about your privacy, do not use the Internet or leave your home, the modern world of to-day has been fully transparent, because we all agreed to that for whatever reason.
If you wanna do something personally, use this:

And Bing is not bad, only the feel is different and that is why one hesitates to switch from years of Googling,
and there are other nice initiatives that do not store your search profile for long -

Or tweak your Fx searches: http://mycroft.mozdev.org/search-engines.html?name=scroogle

which doesn’t mean that everything is allowed and nothing should be done to limit privacy intrusions from the big oils down there… a lot of spyware stuff (including well known tools like analytics…) present on the web is just there for tracking, marketing and adware purposes, and in no way to “enhance the user’s experience” as they say.
edit:
the modern world of to-day has been fully transparent
you’re kidding or what you’re calling Internet spying transparency ;D good one Sir
Pull the plug on the computer and walk out for hardcopy newspapers but make sure you wash your hands thoroughly as you don’t want to get the H1N1 flu do you.
Hi to the privacy concerned,
There is no easy way out. Does this mean, that the Mozilla man supports the experimental Bing-service entitycube, that retains personalized biographical data?.
Re: http://entitycube.research.microsoft.com/
This means that the Mozilla man has been sleeping under a rock since he developed Fx out of its predecessor, even RipvanWinkle now knows there is no real privacy on the Internet today, if it ever was, and does he know that Fx has 91% of its income from Google (of cource Google depends on this search-flow also),

I edited and added something to my post above:

not saying here that bing’s more safe, not at all, but Google CEO’s statement is simply outrageous…that was the main reason why I posted this thread. If it had been just about Bing vs Google, I wouldn’t have. Try not to ignore this statement people and comment on it if you have anything to say, thanks.
Yokenny, cloning Polonus’s post won’t help you. This is the second time in two days that you interfere when someone else disagrees with me, by cloning the post of the person I disagree with, and just in a poor attempt to challenge me. Try to have your own opinion sometimes :
Hi malware fighters,
If you value your privacy by making your search request from typing into the URL bar, and want to make Scroogle the default browser for inside Chrome, here is how to go about that: Chrome — wrench > Options > Default search Manage > Add. Paste and use https://ssl.scroogle.org/cgi-bin/nbbwssl.cgi?Gw=%s (Chrome phones home a lot)
This also works inside SRWare’s Iron 4,

It really doesn’t matter which browser or search engine you use.
Neither will hide anything you reveal on the internet from prying eyes.
If you don’t want it known, don’t post it on the net.
Words, pictures and videos posted on the net become every ones property and if you don’t
control what you put out there, sooner or later it will come back to bite you in the rear.
My personal favorite for searches is Dogpile mainly because it uses multiple engines (including Google, Yahoo, and a few others). It does a nice job of filtering out duplicate hits and of prioritizing listings by probable relevance.
Mike, http: // www . dogpile . com/ is blocked into hosts file… Do you know why? Is it adware?
dogpile.com is not blocked in my HOSTS file.

Am using “Dogpile” now…like it!
Nor in mine. In fact, my HOSTS is still the essentially empty Win default one. The only times it hasn’t been that way were (1) back when I had Ad-Aware, which added a huge chunk of entries to it, and (2) when the Wilders forums changed servers a few years back, they recommended adding their new IP to HOSTS for a few days until DNS servers caught up with the change.
