Tech you were right.

Just Avast, Spyblaster & Imaging.

No real need for any thing else.

I have felt so must have you, the older the windows get, after a fresh install, the smoother it rolls like a new car after doing 10K miles.

You’re welcome… but, other tools could be good as on-demand only (not resident). Also, browser security.

Spyblaster provides Browser security for both IE & FF.
