MRG Flash Test

Congratulations to avast! on the latest MRG flash test.

Only avast, MBAM and Emsisoft
Congratulations.

Strange that GData failed given that it used avast and bitdefender as its two engines. It failed the same two tests as bitdefender.

Why do you think that strange? If Bitdefender fails, GData fails… unless it was a detection test…
By the way, can anybody find the methodology used?

What is the point in having two scanning engines if they aren’t both going to be used and count if scanner (a) doesn’t detect but scanner (b) does then overall that is a detection. The whole point of dual scanning engines, that is what I find strange.

not sure if it’s the same with avast, but I think the bit defender engine in gdata is previous years version.

You’re right. I didn’t think in this way…

Congratulations to Avast!

Thanks Tgell.
Now, David’s question continues without answer: why GData fails if avast detect it? ???

Simple answer : Avast better than GData.

GData use Avast engine but did they use the same Avast definition for detection or maybe their own definition file?

Eventhough they use Avast engine but the other part of their antivirus application code is still using their own code and logic. So the difference in code and logic use for application play a big role here.

Another 100% pass for avast!. Keep it up!
