symantec info

Discovered: December 28, 2001 Updated: February 13, 2007 12:30:43 PM Type: Virus, Macro Systems Affected: Windows 2000, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT, Windows XP

A virus in the X97M.Laroux.gen family typically spreads only.

These viruses generally do not have any payloads and usually reside in only one macro module; although combinations of two modules are known to exist.

Most variants of X97M.Laroux.gen use the auto_open() sub function to become active and copy themselves into any opened Excel Workbook.
