Well MS claims it’s antivirus solution with real-time protection. Is it really compatible with other antivirus solutions as avast and so on?.. Because IT SAYS remove any other antivirus or antispyware programs. :o Trust my security to MS? - no way ;D ;D

Well, I watched help video in the site, and MS girl in what video says “Uninstall any antivirus or antimalware program before installation”. So basically MS says no, it can’t work with other antivirus. I’m confused now… :-\

Avast! has said that the current 5 beta has been made compatible with MSE per Microsoft instructions; good since 5 beta is inadequate to protect your computer in its current form. Suspect the next forthcoming beta will be the same, but not a general capability of MSE, just a special configuration of Avast! 5 beta. See http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=48496.0 . Don’t see any indication of Avast! 5 final and MSE final being a supported configuration, but ???

During that time, we tested avast with over 15 other low-level applications and fixed a few compatibility issues. For example, we made sure avast! works flawlessly with the upcoming Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) – a program that has severe issues with the current avast beta build 5.0.89, by the way (so this will be fixed in the next beta build, due in a couple of days). Also, we made sure that the new features that are coming up in avast 5, such as persistent caching, process virtualization and the firewall work great under Windows 7.
