MS Removal Tool Malware

The computer at my church, running Avast Internet Suite (pay version) became infected with MS REMOVAL TOOL MALWARE.

Should Avast protected us from that?

We did have some older, outdated, not used AV programs, on the hard drive which have since been removed.

I’d love to hear your comments. Educate me please…

Did a restore to previous day and it worked fine.
Did a complete system scan and it was clean.

System Restore is NOT a method for removing malware effectively.

Thanks for the advice!

Indeed. Not even close. It’s not even a good system restore :stuck_out_tongue:

A system image stored on an external HDD is the best system restore you can buy.
