MS word opening in sandbox

HI all, running an old version Microsoft Word (from Office 97).
This problem occurred 2 - 3 weeks ago, but I thought it was fixed; happened
again yesterday.
Double clicked on a file with the rtf extension (rich text format).
Word opens up, but Avast puts a red box around it. Tells me about 10 seconds later
that it hasn’t found any evidence it is malware and asks me if I want to allow it.

The file is Winword.exe. Is this a definition problem in Avast, or
is this something to do with the behavior shield?

Yes, these old versions of winword.exe aren’t signed and since they are pre-historic (Is still have office 97), they don’t feature very much on ‘The file prevalence/reputation is low.’ This is an option in the AutoSandbox (part of the file system shield, set it as an exclusion in the AutoSandbox Exclusions, see image (you will probably have to do this for Excel, if you use it).

Thanks DavidR,
I’ll set the exclusion.

Dave

You’re welcome.
