MSE eating more than 90% of RAM during a scan...

I launched a full scan with it and suddenly noticed while browsing Firefox that pages were loading slowly and I could hardly move any window…MSE was then scanning a couple of zip files…and my memory meter on a desktop gadget was showing that almost all the RAM was used (more than 2800 MB out of 3GB). Task manager, which was hell to launch, didn’t show anything special with MSE processes but tens of SVCHost processes, so that include without naming it MSE service.
I interrupted the scan and attempted the same scan with avast5 on the same folder with the zip files (all packers enabled), and there wasn’t such issue with avastsvc…

Hm…Seem but taking more ram I know it slow down other programs performance but does that means if it take more ram space that it scans more throughly?

no program is supposed to eat all your ram, whatever his abilities are (well unless you’re running an advanced graphics editor and you don’t have the HP for it…).

also: noticed a small delay in displaying web pages when setting temporarily MSE as resident and disabling avast shields. back to normal since I switched back to avast and uninstalled MSE (was just a test).

Sometimes I can say not only security includes but also us pc performance!

A Full scan did not make a bit of difference on my Windows 7 system.

The RAM meter went from 37% to 38% and now its back to 37%

I don’t have Real-time protection enabled.

You are also on a 32 bit computer and Logos is using a 64 bit computer… ??? ??? ???
