MSN and AVAST

Hi,

I just uninstalled and reinstalled my MSN program for dial up and this is the message I get on the screen now…

You cannot use MSN to log on. Please choose a different dial-up connection to log on to Windows.

Anyone got any ideas what I can do to stop this from popping up all the time, I end up having to minimize it…it’s irritating.

The information you have given is a little vague. Where is this message coming from or what program is giving you this message? I do not know of any avast messages that can be minimized but I could be wrong. If possible, please take a screen shot of the message and post it here. This will help to better understand the message you are getting.

This message is coming from AVAST, as I recognize the “i” in a globe on the pop up. I’ve just reinstalled Avast thinking that might make a difference, but it didn’t. Hope this gives you some idea.

Well I don’t recognise the ‘i’ in a globe as meaning it is from avast, the avast ‘i’ icon is for the VRDB (and that would have nothing to do with dial-up connections) and I don’t believe that pops-up any messages, or that this ‘i’ in a globe belongs to avast. Rather it is nothing other than ‘i’ as in Information? That is however, guesswork on my part.

A screenshot of the pop-up would be nice.

Wanda … do you have XP? And, does the “i” look like a capital “i”? Also, what color is the globe … green, yellow, etc?

I rather suspect that is mistaking the standard information popup of Windows for an avast message.
