MSN Messenger 7.5 & Avast 4.7 Home Edition

Hi,
Not sure if anyone can help, but i am trying (have been for a while now) to logon to msn messenger using MSN Messenger 7.5 & Avast 4.7 Home Edition.

The error message is “msn has made several attempts - your firewall may be blocking Messenger from connecting to this service. Please review your firewall settings. See retailers instructions.”

I don’t think i have a firewall (but have a NB1300 running?) but are there any settings in Avast I can change. -I tried the IM tick box thingy as per previous forum messages…to no avail. Any ideas would be muchly appreciated ???

What is the OS of your computer?

You might try a search on your computer for … firewall … to see if you actually have one that is blocking MSN Messenger.

I have the same problem, avast blocked my messenger…!! What should I do to have my MSN working again?
