MSVCF71.dll file is missing.

Iv’ve tried to reinstall Avast 4.0 but I keep getting this message to diable it first then try again. Well I can’t disable it because I can’t get in it because of the missing MSVCF71.dl file. I tried repairing it also in & it tells me that there was an error… Says ‘Use full update’. Well I can’t update it cause it tells me that it can’t configure it. I guess because of this missing file. Help!!! Somebody Please help me!!!

Hey you guys, also when I start my system i get an error that my the ‘MSVCF71.dll’ is missing & reinstalling 'ashDish.exe will fix it. Where do I get this ashDish.exe file to install it.

Do you mean ashdisp.exe and MSVCP71.dll :o

I would download the Avast uninstall utility, which has to be run in safe mode, and the latest Avast.Run the tool first, then reboot and install a fresh copy of Avast.
