Hi, I’ve noticed in the last week or so when I run a search on google there 's sometimes as many as 5 or more of the green check marks next to a search result (or the grey ? if the site is unrated.)
I’m on Chrome, latest versions of Avast and Chrome, and running Win 7. Is this normal? I’ve had a couple of other odd issues, such as a slightly increased loading time lately and when I close a program, or when a lot of things are starting up, my mouse becomes a little laggy / jerky. And I had a Windows Explorer restart one time when I tried to load multiple Word documents simultaenously. Generally, everything runs well, no slowdowns, its just right at startup that I have some slowdown.
I’ve done a full scan with Avast and Malwarebytes, including scanning for rootkits, and nothing came up, but I’m just wondering if anything here sounds suspicious to anyone else?
Repair Avast:
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB204
If Repair doesn’t fix the problem, try the following:
Clean Install of Avast: https://goo.gl/4Ptzkf
Hi, thanks for the response. I repaired Avast and it appears that its no longer displaying the multiple tick marks. I noticed since I posted that it seems to be a somewhat intermittent issue, so my real concern is whether there’s something going on beneath the surface as it were in terms of a malware problem. Do you have any advice on whether there are any other scans I should run?
