Multiple License types with one avast console

My company purchased 120 License of Endpoint Protection and 30 License of Endpoint Protection Plus. I was told by the Avast! sales rep that running with mixed licenses would be no issue.

I was sent the licenses in two separate files. I loaded the 120 License into my AEA Console first and was able to deploy and get the first part of my PCs in my network configured. However upon trying to load the 30 endpoint plus license I find that the endpoint plus license overwrites the 120 endpoint protection I already have loaded.

Does this mean that in order to use the two seperate license files I will need to have two seperate installs of the AEA Console?

Anyone else out there successfully running with mixed license types?

It cannot be done, here is why:

When the console pushes the license, it will intermittantly grab all of the mixed license files, and it won;t match, so it won’t work. This WILL stop a push deployment.

I see 3 options here:

  1. use 2 consoles
  2. upgrade the EP to EPP (50% upgrade discount through a reseller)
  3. down grade EPP to EP (I have never been successful in doing this, but I haven’t tried lately)

Sincerely,

J.R. Guthrie

Good to know. Thanks for the information. Looks like I have some decisions to make.

technically running the licenses mixed on the network is no problem. Managing dual license is a whole different story and like Guthrie said not possible. Gives me an idea for an RFC actually
