Multiple positives since last Virus database update

I have avast set to run when my screen saver activates and it is finding multiple viruses that it never found before - all the same type…Win32:Trojan{other}

I have moved them all to my chest but…24??? Positives???I ran a full system scan only a week ago and there was nothing. I have not downloaded anything except :

Scanning of selected files

Action was completed successfully!

Virus has been detected!
File Name: Firefox 2.0.0.7 exe
FileID: 23
Virus Description: Win32:Trojan-gen {Other}

I find it hard to believe there are this many examples of the same virus type “all of a sudden”

Firefox 2.0.0.7 is a virus :o
That’s hard to believe.

I agree…there are many more as well, like:
Sfv Checker.exe
Blindwrite.exe
AsusSetup.exe
FileZilla_v2.2.32.exe
ImgBurn*v2.3.2.0.exe
Kernel32.dll
Nero-Info Tool-v4.1.0.8.exe
PeExplorer-v1.98.R2.exe
Shockwave-v10.2.0.023.exe
winsock.dll

ad nausem…
all of these files are legit - direct from the company’s web sites, except the 2 windows files…

I have a few false positives too and all have passed other virus checkers as worm free. I believe AVAST has a problem that needs to be fixed pronto.

Strange… can you please pack the files into an archive and upload it to ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming?
Thanks!

Borealis, I must say this looks like a file-infector to me.
