Multiple Screen saver scans listed

I have 15 copies of the Screen saver scan In the Scan Now area of avast! Free Antivirus. This is really annoying because the list gets ridiculously long.
How they got there I have no idea about.

Here’s how my Scan Now list looks:

  • Quick scan
  • Full system scan
  • Removable media scan
  • Select folder to scan
  • Scan from Windows Explorer
  • Screen saver scan
  • {Custom Scan}
  • Copy of Screen saver scan
  • Copy of Screen saver scan
  • Copy of Screen saver scan
  • Copy of Screen saver scan
  • Copy of Screen saver scan
  • Copy of Screen saver scan
  • Copy of Screen saver scan
  • Copy of Screen saver scan
  • Copy of Screen saver scan
  • Copy of Screen saver scan
  • Copy of Screen saver scan
  • Copy of Screen saver scan
  • Copy of Screen saver scan
  • Copy of Screen saver scan
  • Copy of Screen saver scan
  • Boot-time scan

I haven’t found any way to delete the copies, the delete button that exists for custom scans doesn’t show up on the copies.
I’ve also tried to repair the avast! installation, but to no success. I’d be happy if there’s a way to get rid of them.

I have this issue in the past… I can’t remember how I’ve solved it… Probably:

  1. Editing the avast5.ini file.
    or
  2. Clean reinstalling avast!.
