Mutiple issues with Avast Premium Security

  1. No internet connection after installation — manual reboot
  2. Installation cannot be completed - log is not available; it was empty — manual reboot
  3. Windows firewall was off; avast firewall was on; installation cannot be completed — no internet connection — manual reboot
  4. was not abale to manage avast firewall since it was not ready; installation was still in progress — no internet — manual reboot
  5. installation complete — no internet connection ---- firewall managed by avast — was not able to open avast premium security ---- uninstall initiated
  6. uninstalled avast_premium_security – reboot — windows crash – – reboot — restore
  7. reboot successfull — firewall restored to default — internet connection is back…

Any thoughts? Should I try to install it again? Do you have any known bugs with the latest Ver?

  • Which Avast…? (Free/Pro/IS/Premium)
  • Which version…?
  • OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
  • Other security related software installed…?
  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

Thanks for your advices. Just want to add a few things.
I don’t and I didn’t have any antivirus software. I was trying to use the latest release which I downloaded following the link after purchasing the license. It’s not a free version.

I do have issues with firewall and it’s a standard Win10 firewall. Avast is messing with it and the there is no internet connection when avast takes the control, I mean when it’s installed. Should I deactivate standard firewall somehow when I install Avast premium security ?

Set your firewall to Private not public.

Have no idea what’s going on with avast again. Avast firewall has bunch of rules in the log and I’m loosing internet connection. It’s floating… available and then not. There is no difference if the network is private or public. I’m going to do the refund and delete the software. It’s really strange because I have no issues on another lap top. I can send share the print screens if needed… but it just doesn’t make sense 6h spent to install an official product and it doesn’t work.

I believe I’m not alone with my firewall issues now… Do you know if a new version addressed all the issues?
