My application crashes in AswCmnOS.dll on Windows 7

Howdy.

I am developing a new application which runs fine on Windows XP (with Avast installed). However, when I run it on Windows 7 (with Avast installed), the application fails either just after I open the Help file (on W7 Pro), or else just after I close it (on W7 Home Premium). On W7 Pro, the detailed information about the failure says that it occured in AswCmnOS.dll.

I have no clue as to what is causing this failure on W7 but not on XP. Anyone able to offer me some suggestions?

By the way, if you want to test this yourself, you can download the application for free from www.KMRConsulting.com/free_download.html – just look for the MergeCDs entry near the top of the page.

Thanks for any ideas.

I found the problem–the stack size in my application was too small. Why this should fail in the way that it did is beyond me, but hey, it’s Windows…

PS: You can still download my MergeCDs application for free if you want to.

I just yesterday installed Parallels 7 on my Mac, but still running Windows XP, not Windows 7, and got this same (brand new to me) error “This application has failed to start because awsCmn05.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.” Talk of stack size is like Greek to me … What do I have to do to get this to work again?
