avast!home edition 4.7.942
how to solve this problem?
I performed a brief forum search. Does this thread help?
Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You need to be on-line to do this.
I’d like to ask:
- What operating system do you use?
- What folder did you install avast! into (the default one?)
HI
I’ve got exactly the same problem…with windows XP
I’v try to repair… doesn’t change a thing…
what do you mean by save avast in the original directory, I’ve saved it in a special directory…(other name)…
I’ve tryed to desactivate the windows firewall ,it doesn’t help …
??? what to try …?
Thank’s
mine is doing the same david, and have done everything you have listed above - help please!!!
@ pbxl
I believe what Igor means is for you to try a reinstall (uninstall, reboot, install, boot.) in the default folder, don’t use a special directory.
@ mitchemjack
If you can answer Igor’s questions and if in a different folder to the default try an uninstall, reboot and install in the default folder I assume you are using the English language version ?
If already in the default folder a reinstall might resolve it if the install was bad.
I have my English language version of avast in a different partition but the same general path, D:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4 without any problems.
I’ve got the french version…
I’ll try to do it …
YES it works … it was the folder … I’ve tryed to download it in a special folder … didn’t like it
THANK’S …
Hope it s a great 'antivirus"
Thanks for the feedback and welcome to the forums.
For some reason it would appear that some of the different language versions and the windows language have problems with uni-code for special characters in the path when a different folder to the default is selected. This I believe has been mentioned in other posts and I believe the fault has been identified and should be resolved in the next program update fingers crossed.
