my.avast.com unreachable with firefox 51.0.1 (32b)

I don’t why but I can’t access my account on my.avast.com.(due to firefox 51.0.1 ?)
No trouble to enter idents in the login page (e-mail & pass) , but after the orange bar begins to grow with infinite string “loading” , account never opened.
Using win XP Pro SP3 , AIS 17.1.2286 , FF 51.0.1
However , when I downgrade to FF 49.0.1 or portable version , using chrome , all is right , only FF 51.0.1 issue.
Of course , I tried to delete cache , coockies , histo ,…, by using ccleaner , tried FF safe mode without addons , even with new profile → failure.
The strangest is that with the pretty same config on other pc (Xp sp3 , AIS 17.1.2286, FF 51.0.1 , all is right.

I know Avast does not seem to be the culprit , but is there someone to say me what is wrong with this firefox version ?

ps:no problem with other https sites , no detected malwares or others with avast complete scan , with malwarebytes , adwcleaner .

I’ve seen several reports about things not working in that FF version.
Looks very much Mozilla has work to do.
I suggest you report the problem(s)/ask the Mozilla community.

yes , it’s also good for me with my 2nd pc , same config , same avast , same firefox , and I really don’t know what happen on 1st
My login is good (id.avast), it’s after (my.avast)I can’t by-pass the loading

Right ,the problem is certainly on the side of firefox (conflict with my own system) , I asked for mozilla support , I’m waitng for now
On the other hand , trouble not so important , I only encounter this problem on my.avast , not on all my other https sites.
More , I can use firefox portable , chrome or even my 2nd pc to reach my account
But still a bit annoying when there is something I do not understand

Not gotten a reply from mozilla but it seems that something has changed since version 50.
My problem disappeared by delaying a minute less my windows time.

nb:The same problem (bug?) returns after testing on my 3 other pcs

I’m on my win10 laptop and I don’t have the latest avast version on this, so I’m not sure that would validate anything if the issue is on one of your XP systems.

Are you also running the latest avast version (17.2.2288) on that XP system as it has been updates sine you first posted.

Hmmm, as you’re talking about the clock, DST started today in parts of Europe (including Prague).

however it seems to be a clock (bug?) issue in latest ff versions.No more trouble with FF<50

@DavidR : sorry if I misunderstood , but there are nothing against avast , no more against kind of avast version , no more about kind of OS we can use
Right , I’m using 17.2.2288 on same windows xp than I posted first , with latest firefox version 52.0.1 ESR (same with v52.0.1 without ESR)
Issue comes from a change of mozilla since their version 50
I just want people using my.avast account with FF52 regardless of their OS to try to manualy advance their windows clock (10 minutes or 1 hour)
As far as I try to loggin my.avast with win xp , win7 or w8 (do not have w10) , everytime The account link remains blocked
Back to real time , and all is right.
I just wanted you to experience, no more and no less

I too am somewhat lost at to why the having incorrect system time should cause an issue in firefox if you have the latest build for XP, 52.0.1-ESR. Or why anyone would advance their system time to bump into this issue.

But I pushed it forward 10 minutes and it does stall the ‘loading’ of the page. Then there is the inconsistency if it is only happening on one of your systems.

Your average avast user probably doesn’t visit my.avast.com then you have running an incorrect system time, the numbers drop even further.

It is not a question of needing to advance the watch, but more if the time of the system takes the lead step by step. I know quite a system where the clock is not necessarily synchronized on the internet time. In my case, it takes only 1 minute in advance since a long time , sufficient to prevent my account to open Now, sorry if I was wrong and you can fully enter your account (not just as in your image showing the loading)

However it is true that the clock has more chance of delaying days after days than advancing.
Everything worked on my other 2 systems that had no advance before I decided to force them.
Not by need, but to check what seems to me to be an evolution of firefox with respect to time.
With firefox 49, I can put 10 hours in advance, it does not pose problems opening my account , with 50 , 51 , 52 it does.

This is, I would suggest is a more viable reason than it being only a firefox version problem. But there is no consistency, like why it didn’t happen to everyone using FF 52.0.1 or with an earlier version of FF or it is OK with other browsers.

It’s just an observation I made, I agree it’s not going to stop the earth from turning.

Sometimes small, innocuous changes can sometimes have annoying consequences.
