This version came as official for me.

For me this version did not come as beta.
The 17.8 version seems to be a release version. At least it is being offered as such! And installed here.
I do wish Avast would change the version number between beta and release versions.
I have been banging that drum for years it is a pain in the backside and very confusing for the user.
