My Avast Profile; How (& where) do I find the "BBC Code" to use in my Signature

Good afternoon everyone!

 Within the PROFILE section (where I can edit my signature), it states that I can use BBC code ([i]and smileys[/i]) in my signature. However, I have been unable to ascertain just how to do this. Everything I type appears just like the type shown here in this post.

I would appreciate it if someone could please explain how I go about utilizing this BBC code?

Thank you for your time and any assistance!

Pete C.

BBC code works in your signature and elsewhere but you need to insert it manually.
Unlike in the regular post, there aren’t any shortcuts to press.
Maybe you should use a regular post to see what the smiley’s require. :slight_smile:
A : followed by a ) would show up as :slight_smile: but you have to do it manually.
That also applies to bold text or larger text etc. and remember, all that coding eats into
the total number of letters you may use in your signature.

I would have to question the need for BB code in the signature file, what is wrong with your existing signature ?

@Bob3160

 Thanks muchly for your reply!

@DavidR

 Nothing specific. I just wanted my signature to appear like it does when I've made a post in the forum. (E.g. [i]Pete C.[/i])

OK, I though you might be going to get over exuberant with different fonts, sizes, etc. etc. ;D

If the following is what yoiu want,

Pete C.

Dell Dimension 3000 | Win XP Pro, SP3 | Intel Pentium 4, 3.00 gHz CPU | 40GB HD | Avast! AV (free) | MBAM Pro | SuperAntispyware (free) | Spywareblaster

Than this is what you need to put into your signature:

The easiest way is to formulate your signature, is by using the post Reply window. Then copy and paste that into your signature.

You obviously don’t need to actually complete the post, just use it to get the code from the window for your signature.

Which is exactly what I did in order to make my post and the picture of what Pete C. needs to enter in his signature. :slight_smile:

I appreciate all the additional info, Bob & David!

I’ll give it a try and see how it works out!

Thanks very much again!

Pete C.

It took a few attempts…but I believe I managed to get it right, Bob & David!

Thanks once again!

You’re welcome.

:slight_smile:
Glad it’s now the way you wanted it.
