my avast update is dead

Hi
I used a software to clean unused software in my hd,
and it deletes a lot of *.LOG

Now i can’t update avast!
the engine is dead
No RESPONSE!

Are you sure only the LOG files got deleted?

Have you tired repairing avast? if you dont know how go to add/ unistall program the high lite avast and click the Change/remove and in the list there should be a repair item and click next. it might not work though

I forgot to say there is a update button there as wellit might fix this problem

I can’t repair i can’t uninstall!

Maybe you can try RejZor’s avast External Control to uninstall (see http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=3021)

ummm I delete the files *.ovr in the avast dir
the file *.ovr are feurio tempory files
i purged them
and now i should reinstall it again ( avast)
by the way thanks
