i have a intel celeron 2.66Ghz computer with 2gig ram and a good graphics card with 512Mb ram on board. normally the computer runs fine and quick but if i monitor the cpu activity and play an online game the cpu is running at 100%. is there anything i can do other than buy a new computer

thanks in advance

But what is using the CPU% check the windows Task Manager and see what Process is using it all ?

Monitoring the CPU if using task manager uses about 1-2% of the CPU% so you need to find out what is using the rest.

games i think that’s normal if you have 3d online games running ::slight_smile:

the only thing i am running is firefox looking at facebook and the game is Farmville on facebook, i hope this helps

The only thing that will really help are the stats from the Task Manager to see what us consuming the CPU%.

Have you tried it with any other browser combinations, whilst firefox uses a fair amount RAM it isn’t so heavy on CPU.

As your CPU doesn’t have a great deal of grunt it is always going to be working almost flat out on games even with a good graphics card, they still use the CPU.
