I did read another thread from like 6 weeks ago about “refreshing” the Software Updater when something’s not showing right… but I have already refreshed mine a few times and the issue remains.
Maybe it’s not really an issue at all, but can anyone explain why the Avast Software Updater is telling me to update Flash Player to the same version it says is the currently installed version?
I did check in my browsers (IE & Chrome) and their Flash Player add-ons and plug-ins are for the same version as the one noted in the Avast Software Updater as both the current one as well as the one it says to update to.
I have Flash Player add-ons/plug-ins in my browsers disabled. Is that why it’s trying to tell me to update or something?
Or do I have some malware or something that’s trying to trick me into updating it? (I had to temporarily disable my Avast for a little while yesterday to do a firmware update on my WD My Book, so I was unprotected for a little bit.)
Go to add/remove list. Right click on Avast and click on “change” on the left hand side you will see “repair”. Click on repair and follow the instructions.
Thank you! Sorry for the late reply, I usually make sure I’m subscribed to my posts but I never got a notification for your reply. I guess your solution worked; it’s not asking me to update the Flash anymore, thanks!
Oh, awesome, thanks! I didn’t know that existed, definitely will do that next time (I might actually do it now just for the heck of it :)).
I really appreciate both of your help and I learned something new from Staticguy that might help for other things in the future actually – I never knew there was an option to “repair” Avast (I always figured under add/remove programs that the only option was usually “uninstall,” now I know that’s not always the case for all programs).
