Avast worked perfectly for months, but since a recent update, it seems to tag netcat (a network developing tool) as a virus. I cannot use this program unless i temporarily disable avast. Is there a way to fix this?
- Add the file to Exclusion lists:
For the Standard Shield provider (on-access scanning):
Left click the ‘a’ blue icon, click on the provider icon at left and then Customize.
Go to Advanced tab and click on Add button…
For the other providers (on-demmand scanning):
Right click the ‘a’ blue icon, click Program Settings.
Go to Exclusions tab and click on Add button…
You can use wildcards like * and ?.
But be carefull, you should ‘exclude’ that many files that let your system in danger.
- Please, send the file to Alwil for analysis and correction of this false positive. Send an email with the file to virus@avast.com
You can zip and password the files… Inform a link to this thread and the password used. You can send the files to Chest and, from there, resend to Alwil for analysis. Thanks.
