Hi Avast People! I just want to ask you why is Avast slowing down my Firefox???!!! I use Avast Free and if I turn it off the Browser (Firefox) it runs much more faster. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

Hi. Similar problem to yours. My (free) Antivirus slows down everything on & off-line. Up to now I have avoided turning it off because my computer would be instantly vulnerable. Catch-22? Hope someone with an answer replies to your message 
Same here,had to turn of online security plugin in Firefox.
I find it strange if that would have had that much of an impact, given that the shield doing the lions share of the protection/scanning is the Web Shield.
To all posters, no one has stated what firefox or avast version that they are using, nor if they have any other security based applications installed.
