My Hotmail accounts cannot be checked in version 8 via my email client

I have just upgraded to version 8 of Avast antivirus and after some messing around I have my emails working again - however I am unable to read any Hotmail accounts via my email client.

I have been using Eudora for years and prior to this upgrade everything was working fine on version 7. Now on version 8, pop3.live.com is just timing out. All other domains are working ok.

Any suggestions appreciated, thanks.

Why now? Version 8 was released on 2013-02-28. That is over 7 months ago.

Might have something to do with the fact that this topic is 6 months old as was the OPs post ;D

The problem being someone else reactivated it by posting in the topic today.

Which isn’t that unusual people hanging back, more so when you also consider the update cycle could also mean anything up to three weeks.

My Hotmail freezes after I click on my first message. is this due to avast set fire wall. any help please.

what security programs have you installed?

have you cleaned your computer for crap files? you can use CCleaner http://www.piriform.com/
