My iTunes does not recoginze iPad mini after I installed avast?

Dear all, could you pls help me?

Yesterday I installed the free avast (with the 20-day trial internet security suite). Afterwards, the Bonjour service is blocked. I enabled it again.

But when I opened iTunes and connected my iPad mini, iTunes does not recognize it, even though the iPad shows itself in Windows Explorer.

Is there any relation? What should I do?

FYI, the cable was originally bought from Apple store. It is not a copy cable.

My sincere thanks,

In case somebody else has this problem (or the original poster didn’t find a solution), I solved a similar problem by adjusting the avast settings. In the Troubleshooting section, I ticked the option “Load avast! services only after loading other system services”. A message appeared warning me that my machine would be at risk of infection during the startup phase, but when I re-started the computer, iTunes was once again able to see my iPod Touch.

And that is why is still a beta software, one of some reasons. sigh

and still after making a clean install of avast internet security 2014 on windows 7 64 bits the software doesn’t ask for a reboot…not a serious issue but a basic one…ups. sigh.

Are you avast developers planning to fix this issue maybe one day? sigh…only 47 days of sub remaining.

I’ve tested kasperky, BitDefender and Avira in the latest days i don’t have a single issue opening iTunes automatically when i connect my devices…Avast 2014 is the exception.

Any chance of fixing this? Maybe one day? six months?

Am i still protected if i continue using version 8 which has no issues for me developers?

Ah even if open iTunes manually the device doesnt appears inside iTunes.

Puff back to kaspersky IS (which slows my internet browsing)…although i prefered avira pretty light but no firewall =(

Avast i know you dont’ give a dam about losing 1 single customer but im gonna give the company a last try until the next build if you fix this gonna renew with you if not moving to Kaspersky or Bit Defender or Avira (each of these has their own issues though but dont block iTunes.).

Well i had to reinstall windows 7 gave a fourth try to avast 2014 and so far no issues with iTunes.

The bugyy antivirus needs a clean windows installation to function properly (nothing new).

Hope it doesn’t give me “sorprises” this year.
