That may be correct as the Kindle OS may not be supported.

It's Amazon modified Android. Looks like at minimum you can use the Amazon app store. So yes it does seem to run Android apps.

Now that is a very old post in their forum, but if it is still a modified version of Android, avast may not recognise/support it.
