Tech

WE have Comcast Cable connection and my daughter’s computer
which is in her bedroom is working fast enough for us.
This one is in other bedroom using the USB Network Adapter to
connect me to the internet.
It was not this slow even when it had the 30 viruses that Avast found.
I think maybe I’m opening too many pages ( multiple tabs) or ???

What do you think?

I’m sorry, I had forgotten I had downloaded the messenger. It belongs to
kupass.com. It is a web page that connects to a Christian radio station
http;//Radio.Kupass.com and we can also publish blogs and make friends.
I’m a little spaced sometimes, sorry.
I removed it anyway.

No problem.

The main thing is you know what it is, so it isn’t something installed without your knowledge.

If you don’t regularly use it perhaps best not to have it (if you do use it sort of regularly and want to keep it, just check it against virustotal (not that I suspect Christian radio station ;D) and install again if you wish. Just very strange not to have any google hits on it though.

Was it really fast? If so, opening that much tabs will slow it even more…
But, the most important thing is that you’re clean now 8)

Hi Tech

I suggest you scan and submit to on-line analysis the RunScanner log to help to identify any remain problem and the proper solution.

I downloaded the runscanner and ran the scan. I went to their forum but I saw that they
are not answering the topics. Topics get a lot of views but nobody discuss their concern.
I have the scan done to the computer I’m using now and saved it to the desktop.
Do you think I’d better send such scan to this forum to be analized instead?

Yes I found the analysis on line . I clicked and It gave me
the analysis. Everything looksfiine in the computer except for few
programs my son installed that I don’t know. But it didn’t find any
infected files.
Thanks a lot.

Now I’m using my computer. I finally connected it and I’m checking it.
I found out that the area of add/delete programs is empty.
I went to start to programs installed and clicked on Sas and it said
it doesn’t exist. So I guess that only the names of the programs or softwares are there but not the files.
What should I run to find out what is there or not, Hijackthis or the runner?

Hi Tech
I plugged my computer last night but it was not getting the
Internet connection. It said no connectivity or low. For few minutes I got to
get connected but then I lost it again. I could download the runner and
ran the scan but then I couldn’t get connected to analize it.
It says it had no ISP address. I tried repairing and getting a new one but it still saying
to contact the network processor or something like that( I don’t remember the word).
I don’t know what my son did to it.

I disconnected it from the USB network Adapter and went to my daughters bedroom and
unplugged my daughter’s computer from the direct connection to Comcast Cable and
plugged mine and it said the same thing. The computer has low or none connectivity.

Any idea of what’s going on?

Your network settings or your Windows installation aren’t good.

For network, you can try WinSock Fix (http://www.majorgeeks.com/WinSock_XP_Fix_d4372.html).
Use Reg-Backup button before fixing.

For Windows installation, overinstallation can solve the problem and you won’t lose your programs, settings, data, files, etc. Just choose ‘Repair’ installation of Windows and install ‘over’ the old installation.

The other two computers get connected, it is my computer the one that
had the blue screen and my son took home to fix it that is not gettin the connection.
I can’t get connected, so I cant get to the links above.
I put the USB network adapter but it says the signal strength is low for connectivity.
But it is with that computer because with this one I’m using now I have the adapter connected to it and it is working.

It also tells me that for assistance cntact the person who manages my network. ???
I don’t get it.

Tonight is late already but tomorrow God willing I will
try to connect it again to see if I get the Internet connection
at least for few minutes and get to the links you gave me and see if
it fixes it.

order to fix it?
I mean, I thought it is something I have to download to the messed up computer
so it fixes it. Or it is a page where I can learn how to work with the problem?

Start Menu > Control Panel > Network connections
Choose the network you’re using, right click it and choose Properties.
Post the TCP/IP settings clicking, again, on Properties. You can take screenshots of them.

No way. Tech
The computer connects well to the network adapter
but it doesn’t connect to the internet.
I started doing things at random .
At the AOL explorer page (off line) I clicked on file
and then on Properties ( just guessing) and this is what

Youve done a good test: the Internet connection seems to be working. The problem is in your computer. Why dont you try to reinstall (overinstall) Windows (without formating the disk)?
