Hello. Pardon me for my bad English. So, i installed avast free on my MB Air today. When i reboot it, it won’t start up. How can i fix this? Safe mode didn’t work at all. Single user mode also can’t help me. In single user mode, i typed this :
/sbin/mount -uw /
“/Libary/Application Support/Avast/install.sh” uninstall reboot
But somehow, it shows that “No such file or directory”. So how can i fix this? Any kind of help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hello,
in the single-user mode I would just disable File system shield.
Make sure the filesystem is mounted in read-write mode:
/sbin/mount -wu /
Edit filesystem shield to disable it, e.g.:
echo “ENABLED=0” > ‘’/Library/Application Support/Avast/config/com.avast.fileshield.conf"
Othewise, to uninstall Avast you could execute:/Library/Application\ Support/Avast/hub/uninstall.sh
Could you please submit us some logs (/var/log/system.log and /var/log/avastfileshield.log) and in a which step the boot failes?
Best Regards,
Martin
