Hello and good day to you all. About a week ago i was at a birthdayparty and alot of things got stolen. One of the things that got stolen was my rooted nexus 4. Now i already wen to the police and tried android device manager but to no sucess so far. I do remember however that i installed avast antitheft(rooted) a long time ago. Im not sure if its still installed but i read its suposed to be permanantly installed. To acees the anti theft features i need to login into my avast account. Theres the problem. I tried logigin in multiple times with my standard passwort and email, but it always say incorrect Password. So i tried password reset and never recieved the email. Hmm maybe i never made an avast account? I made a new one just now with my standard email adress and it wasnt taken so i guess I foolishly didnt creat an account back then. SO heres my question is there any way to acess the antitheft of my stolen phone? Im really fuzzy on the App because i installed it once and never used it again.
Any help woul be greatly appreciated.
Hi,
do you remember when was the last time you installed/updated the Anti-Theft and what OS version your Nexus 4 had?
Filip
Ohh boy. I originally installed it(rooted) and then upgraded to Kitkat. The exact version i sadly cant remember, but it should be one of the earlier versions.
OK, that might be a problem. I suggest you install Mobile Security, there is a remote control client inside the Anti-Theft item on the dashboard. Pick a command, enter your phone number and send it. If you don’t get response, it might be that your Anti-Theft version is too old or the phone is turned off. If your version is too old, you can still use the common SMS commands, BUT after the first command the thief will know the PIN (that’s why you need to have newer version of Anti-Theft on 4.4+) so think through what command you are going to send.
